Our story began long before Resonate Ministries had a name.

Ministry has been part of our lives for decades. Between the two of us, we have served churches through worship ministry, youth ministry, children’s ministry, church planting, teaching, preaching, and pastoral leadership.

For more than 35 years, Kevin has served on church staffs in a variety of roles. He has led worship in both traditional and contemporary settings, served as a youth pastor in rural communities and larger congregations, helped plant a church, and now serves as the lead pastor of Wright Baptist Church in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Our story together began at St. Andrew Baptist Church in Panama City, Florida. Kevin came to serve as the church’s youth pastor, and Shannon was already an active member of the congregation. During that time, Shannon became the church’s interim children’s director. She would go on to serve on several church staffs, speak at camps and ministry events, and spend several years as a volunteer speaker for The Voice of the Martyrs. That experience gave us an even deeper awareness of the persecuted church and the faithfulness of believers around the world.

Writing has also been part of our story for many years. What began with articles and blog posts eventually grew into something neither of us had initially expected... screenwriting. A few years ago, Shannon decided to try writing a film script and completed The Butterfly Tree in only ten days. Since then, she has written three additional scripts that we hope to develop into future films.

Creativity and media developed along another path. Alongside years of church ministry, Kevin discovered a passion for graphic design, video production, music composing, and editing. While we were helping plant a church, he was bivocational and operated a media business on the side. That season provided opportunities to develop skills that would later become an important part of our ministry together.

Over time, we began to recognize how God had been bringing these different experiences together. Writing, teaching, worship, pastoral ministry, filmmaking, music, graphic design, and video production were not disconnected pieces. Together, they became the foundation for something we had quietly dreamed about for years.

Resonate Ministries officially began in 2023, but the idea had been buried in our hearts long before then. That year became the right time to stop simply talking about what might be possible and begin building it together.
